Vintage Redesigns, Preview #2

Here is another sneak peek at our vintage redesigns line that we are launching at the beginning of 2013!  In this installment, I took another dress and made it into two pieces (a top and a skirt).  Not all the redesigns are this extensive--some are just tweaks on already well-structured pieces.  But this just happens to be another favorite of mine and it is very "holiday" so I thought it would be fun to share!

We actually had this dress for sale in the shop for quite a while.  It was a unique piece made of quality materials (wool and velvet).  But I think it overall was too busy and too heavy.

The piece of lace used in this top was actually from another redesigned piece that will be part of the collection (I like to re-use EVERYTHING--especially pretty fabrics like this antiqued lace!).

My sewing machine is currently on the fritz so things have been delayed a bit, but I'm hoping over Christmas I will find time to crank out the rest of the pieces I have planned and get the lookbook ready for January.  Stay tuned!

    1. Thank you! It can be scary cutting into a garment because I never know if it will turn out...but I was pretty happy with the results!

  5. Oh my goodness so cute! Sometimes I'm so clueless on how to redesign a clothing item, which is probably why I'm always scared to do it and have only done it once or twice...

    1. Thanks Mandy! I always figure if the item is going unworn anyway, why not chop it up and see if you can make something wearable out of it! It can be risky...which is why I use thrifted (ie. CHEAP!) stuff. Haha
